ICBA Conference in Berlin

Berlin, Germany was the location for the 19th Annual Conference of the International Credit Brokers Alliance (ICBA); a gathering of ICBA partners from around the world, representing 40 countries across 6 continents.
The city itself – for multiple years since German reunification in 1990 in the shadow of over half the construction cranes operating in continental Europe – served as an apt metaphor for changes we are seeing in the ICBA organization. Much like the booming modern metropolis straddling the River Spree, the ICBA team has rebuilt itself in recent years into a larger, younger, more diverse, dynamic and focused community.

Explaining Blockchain

A blockchain is a digitized continuously growing public log over confirmed transactions within a “network”. Records are stored, facts can be verified and there is no way to edit or change the chain. It’s impossible to double-spend. A transaction can only be made once, securing only one owner of the currency at all times. The first transaction is the only valid one. Many industries view blockchain as a great opportunity to save both time and reduce costs.

ICBA Australia

ICBA Australia, known locally as National Credit Insurance (Brokers) Pty Ltd., was established in Adelaide, Australia in 1985 as a specialist credit insurance broker. The business has grown to become the largest credit insurance broker in Australia with offices in all major capitals, New Zealand and Singapore.

As ICBA Australia grew, the management realized while its core product was insurance broking, its business focus was protecting the profitability of its clients. While credit insurance was the ultimate safeguard against bad debts, better business practices in trade credit management would also help improve profitability on a day-to-day basis. Therefore a complete range of trade credit services for their clients was introduced: Credit Risk Management, Information Reports, Commercial Collections, Premium Funding and PPSA services.
